Mitch is the King of Creative at FORTÉ and can often be heard saying things like: “If Venus collides with Mars…” on set, in an edit suite or on a network call. Mitch has a deep, unwavering respect for the coffee bean and is happiest when he is sneaking up and scaring the crap out of someone.

Mitch Gabourie is an accomplished creator and series producer/director/writer. His creative work spans multiple genres from scripted drama and comedies, to feature films and factual television.

Mitch recently penned three television features for the Hallmark Channel, including Wild Hearts, starring Richard Thomas and Nancy McKeon, Mending Fences, with Angie Dickinson and The Three Gifts with Dean Cain – all three of which broke ratings records for the network. Mitch created, wrote and directed the half-hour sitcom The Buck Calder Experience for CityTV.

As a long form director, Mitch’s credits include The Hitchhiker, Black Stallion and Forever Knight. As a much sought-after documentary director/writer, Mitch has helmed projects including the DGC-nominated Mob Stories for The History Channel, Ultimate Access and Conspiracy Test for Discovery Channel, PROJECT X for CBC, several documentary specials for Bravo’s ARTS & MINDS and the international award-winning feature documentary, SHURTLEFF(PBS).

Mitch’s feature film directorial career began with the MGM thriller BUYING TIME featuring Dean Stockwell, landing Mitch the DGC’s Most Promising New Director nomination and his film Angel Walk was selected for screening at TIFF and won the Best Drama Award at the Portugal Film Festival.

Mitch’s recent credits in the unscripted space as a creator/EP include the documentary series How I Got Here (BYUtv/SUperchannel), Snack Attack (Food Network US), Stitched (Corus Entertainment), the International Emmy Award-Winning series Snapshots (CBC Kids), CBC’s hit primetime documentary series, Hello Goodbye, the OWN documentary series, Life Story Project and the Discovery ID series Worst Thing I Ever Did. 

Mitch is a member in good standing with the WGA, WGC and DGA.
